I am happy to announce this concert with Early Music expert James Carrier and Portland percussionist Stephen Carpenter.
Steve and I first met Jim a couple of years ago when he came up for a garden concert hosted by Tom Bloom and was looking for some local musicians to share the evening with. Jim makes his home in South Carolina and has performed with the Sonus Ensemble (specializing in medieval music) for many years. He will be bringing his recorders and stringed instruments, Steve will add percussion and I will have the dulcimer, tenor guitar and maybe a couple of other things. Our host, photographer Tom Bloom, will also be adding some poetry to the program. It is sure to be a wonderful summer evening of aural stimulation.
There is no admission charge but donations will be encouraged. If you would like to reserve a spot you can contact me at babstruex@gmail.com and I will pass the information on. If you would rather “walk in” please do!
